I would have to say that our family is different from the other people that live in our neighborhood. Sure, we have a nice house, a nice car, and have a mortgage like everyone else. We all live on the edge of a golf course, and most of us here are avid golfers.
 
But the real difference is our looks. No, we don’t look freaky, or have crazy hairdos. What sets up apart is the fact that every member in our family has tattoos somewhere on our bodies. We have many different styles, though most of us have dragon tattoos, and most of us have more than one.
 
The history behind our tattoos comes from the way my wife and I were raised. We both grew up in homes where you were encouraged to express yourself, and mark our bodies with things that are important to us. It was a way to celebrate our individuality and has definitely shaped the way we turned out.
 
Even our children were interested in our lower back tattoos and got their first ones at an early age.
It will be interesting to see if the tradition continues with our children – both of their spouses don’t have any tattoos at all. Needless to say, I think we did a good job – they are both wonderful individuals.
