I have so many student loans to pay off I can not even believe it. I wonder when I will ever be out of this debt from my college years. Since I decided to use my credit card to make all kinds of different purchases that I really could not actually afford through all of those college years, I am also in great debt from that. Then it did not help that I met a girl who was very pretty but also had very expensive tastes and expected that her boyfriend should buy for her all of the different expensive things that she could possibly want. Like an idiot, I listened to her no matter what she wanted or how much it was going to cost me.
I am stuck now that we have broken up paying off all the stupid little things she insisted that I had to get her in order to have the privilege of keeping her in my life. Well it turns out it was not such a privilege after all anyway. Now in addition to all my student loans that I had earned for myself, I have all her bills basically too, and I do not even have a girlfriend anymore because I caught her making out with another guy. I do not think I ever want to get into debt again. Or have a girlfriend.

The student loan thing is a killer. I’ve been out of school for eight years and I made my last payment just last month. But what choice did I have. I had to get the loans in order to go to college.
I was so lucky that I didn’t have to get student loans. Unfortunately, I did get in way over my head in credit card debt. Books are so insanely expensive and, of course, I needed to buy food. Sigh. I think that I would rather be paying student loans than trying to pay off my credit card.
That’s crappy about your girlfriend. When you are with someone who just takes and takes and doesn’t put anything back into the relationship, it is almost always better to move on. I’m so sorry that you had to go through that!!!
It’s amazing how those little things add up. I am always stunned when I get my credit card bill each month. That cup of coffee, that book, and the dinner out all add up pretty quickly and easily. If only it were as easy to pay the credit card off!
My husband and I both have student loan payments. I never thought that I would be married, pregnant and still paying off my student loan!! I just hope I get it paid off before my baby starts college.
