My husband gets this idea sometimes that when he finishes his bachelor’s degree, maybe he should go to law school. Now, my husband is almost 37, and by the time he graduates it’ll have taken him something like 12 years to finish his undergrad, so as you can imagine I’m not terribly supportive of the idea. Especially since he’s got a really good job right now that pays the bills and, heck, put him through school. Many schools require that first-year law students don’t work at all their first year, because of the workload. So how would we get by without his income?
The biggest reason why hubby wants to be a lawyer, though, is not because of the job itself but because a friend of his mentioned once that he knew a St. Petersburg criminal lawyer that made a really good living doing what she did. Now of course I don’t doubt that, but I don’t think the desire for income is a good reason to become a Clearwater DUI attorney or a criminal defense attorney in Clearwater. Maybe it’s just me, but shouldn’t you become a lawyer because you are interested in upholding the law, or helping people, or something like that?
