It is the time of year when my friends and I like to go to the dunes. The summer time here in south east California is way to hot to attempt these trips. However, now that the weather has turned, every weekend we find ourselves deciding between Buttercup and Glamis! Typically we just do it as a day trip and will load up our quads in the back of out trucks the night before so we are all ready for an early departure.

This past weekend was no different. The night before we were scheduled to leave I was getting all of my gear together in my garage and having a few beers with my neighbor who hangs out with me sometimes. I got the ramps out, opened my truck tailgate, and set the ramps one it. I fired up my old faithful Suzuki Quadzilla, and ripped up and down the street a few times before riding it up into the back of my truck the way I have done a million times before. Mind you, I have a very nice truck with all kinds of neat truck accessories. Well this time I think I must have come in a little too hot because I smashed my quad right through the back window of my truck! So what’s the moral of the story? Don’t get all lit up before loading your quad in the back of your truck.
